Sunday
tonight, just for a change, i will tell u a little about the elections we are going to have in here, next month.
We are going to choose the new mayor for Sao Paulo. And so, ppl from all teh cities throughout Brazil.
We are having on TV, everyday, twice a day, a mandatory political program, about the parties, the candidates.
It lasts for almost 30 mintues, and it shows the candidates for mayor and other jobs in the mayor house.
Lets see the most important candidates.
This is Marta Suplicy. She is the current mayor of São PAulo. She is trying her second chance for the next 4 years. She belongs to the labour party. ( i voted for her.)
This is José Serra. Another candidate. He was teh minister of Health for Brazil.. It was him the responsible for the launch of medicines that are the same as the ones from the famous laboratories (Pfizer , Bristol Myers Squibb etc) but they cost about 70% less. It helped a lot the people. Cos, medicines are usually very expensive in here. We call these sort of medicines as "generic".
This is Maluf (aaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrgh), the candidate that robs ppl. He was involved in very deep troubles about money sent to Jersey Island, and Caymann Island, w/o paying taxes. He is a pig.
But now,
hahahahahaha
my favourite candidate!!
hahahahahahaha
the big, the cleverest, the most beautiful one!!!!

hahahahahahah
this is Enéas!!!
true!! he is one of the candidates!!
hahahahahahahaha
look what people do with his pics!

And more:
As the lord of the rings, lol
as the superman!!! hahahahahahahahahaha

hahahahahahahahahahahahah
gosh, i think i better sleep now.
hahahahaha
beijos.

MORNING PICTURES, LOL
Just snapshots of the school!
Caroline, the secretary posing at the entrance of the school! :)

Caroline and Viviane ... (they were surfing the ORKUT by the moment i caught them, lol)

While Zé Carlos (José Carlos) was talking to a student in the phone.. - Standing. Zé Carlos uses to answer calls standing, lol I dunno why.
This is my "glass office", lol Gosh, it is terrible during the summer. I have to keep a fan running all day long. Palomba, the teacher, is by my side.
Me and the famous glass window. lol Gosh, look at my hair!! Looks that my head is a lot bigger than it really is, hahhahaha
There are my flowers, my pc, my 2 telephones (lol) my glasses and Chris pic, by the side of the pc. This is how i look when i have to go to work early. (it was around 9am) You can see the bright sun reflecting in the transparent walls. The reason i laugh when i am in the msn is because the notice board is just in the other side of the office, next to the glass window, so when my boss stops there, looking at the panel, and i am in the computer, i think it is funny to see him standing there, lol - just a silly remark, But trust me, i feel like in an aquarium. lol

And here is the notice board. Hehe, with the pics and things that are happening in the school this month.
That is all for now. :)

FIRST DAY AT WORK!! PHEW!!
After 4 days off, had to shake my lazy bones and cope with the pain in my legs i got from walking so much during the holidays and stand proud, lol
Very weird to get trapped in the routine again! At the begining i felt a bit as a fish out of the water" but i could survive the day ok.
Had 4 class observations today, had to enter the classrooms and observe how my fellow teachers were performing. Meanwhile, I called Luciano Timm, the overseas courses director of E.F. International, and negociated the charges for the January trip for the students to Santa Barbara, California. He charged us around 2,670 USD for a 3 week course + air fare ticket + acommodation. Well, lets see now if they get interested and join the tour. :)
The pics from the English Pub Bash are already in the school panel board!! lol Very nice! I created aswell a FOTOBLOG for the school which is at: http://skillmoema.fotoblog.uol.com.br and from now on, there is an "official" fotolog for the school pics. lol
Trust Chris to be thinking: " Another thing to worry, lol", but this can be easily used as tool for marketing, dont u think? It is an electronic profile of the school branch events and as a matter of fact,. my own profile, hehe
Tomorrow i will "broadcast" the address of the fotolog at the school, hehe
Well, im a bit tired and tomorrow i promised myself to be up early and walk in the park before my working day. (good grief!) - do u think i will be able to make it?
Humm.. lets see!! :)
Ah! also, today was the birthday of Adri's baby!!!! He was born measuring almost 55cm and weighing almost 4 kilos!!!! OMG!!! Thats a giant baby!!! lol I was born weighing 3kl500g and mom says i was such a big girl!! Imagine adris baby!! omg, how enourmous! Yasir told me she is doing fine and as soon as she gets back home, she will talk to me. Also, he had called Adris father here in brazil and spoke to him. lol
I can imagine the "sort " of talk they had! hahah like: "Hello, Adris father...Im Yasir, The father of your daughters baby, nice to meet you"... lol or, better: "Hi there! Id like to inform you that ur grandson is born!! and, oh! btw, Im the father!!", hahahaha
Gosh.
My dad would have already called the police after me if i had done something like that...
gosh.
I cant imagine my father "being informed" about my pregnancy or about my baby this way. Gosh. He would kill me,lol Better: he would go after me and then, swear at me, and finally kill me and grab my baby, lol
well. hope one day i have a baby too , but i wouldnt like to be this way Adri did. She has her own reasons, i respect. She is very much brave to cross an ocean and do all this, with 2 little kids in the arms. But... well.. Id like to have my own life set up in a "normal" way. Like: dating... being engaged... meeting the parents (gosh - hope my fiancée doesnt run from my dad,lol)... then, after a while... to get married. And only after a year or so, have a baby. And have 1 more. Id like to have 2 children. But, funny, i would like to skip the part of pregnancy.lol Maybe i could ask someone to have the baby and then give to me,lol But never my husband having sex with her!!!!!!!1 Grrrrrrrr
Yes, humm.. no, id better have the baby myself, yes. Gosh.. I wonder if it hurts. How can a person can be formed inside my belly? This sounds some weird.
and the name? Gosh! This must be the most difficult part! If I have a girl, id like her to be called "Katherine", or, "Catarina" - some ppl think it is old fashioned, but i like it a lot. Or, humm, maybe "Luisa", or "Louise", but it is too much "foreigner" like. It will never match my surname. well, or maybe, "Beatrice"...dunno... But for a boy, i would like him to be called as: "Pedro" - or "Peter", (although I do love the Russian version for this name: Pietro", or even "Ivan" - gosh! i think this name is so beautiful! Or Andrew (english), André (portuguese) or Andrey. Humm...dunno..
Maybe "Pedro", or "João". I like simple names that can be easily pronounced internationally.
BTW.. why Am worrying about them names for a baby that isnt born or planned??lol
Gosh.
Do u think all women also wonder about their babies names?
Or...
is it just me??
Let me sleep at once, lol
Good luck for adris baby!!
Health and success!

TUESDAY OFF!
Today, the Independence Day here in Brazil. It was on September 7th in 1822, that Dom Pedro declared our country independent from the Reign Of Portugal. Crazy.. Since 1500 we belonged to them, then, after 322 years, 3 centuries of dependence on Portugal. Gosh. Almost 350 years of mass robbery in our country. POrtugal used to come here, take our gems, gold, coal etc and take to Portugal. And, moreover: they sent to our country the worst sort of people from POrtugal. The same as United Kingdom did to Australia. Also, that was the begining of our external debt. To be independent Dom Pedro asked for a loan in a British Bank!! Can u believe that? The Brazilian ppl paid around 2,000 GBP and since then, this amount has increased a lot.
I didnt know about it. It was one of the Bakery owners who told me this afternoon, as i was having a snack in there. Gosh. This history of the Americas is full of lies and rubish.
Well, enough of politics.
I went today to the park.
here are some pics i took in there. U would not believe how many ppl there were! Gosh, at a moment i felt even dizzy to see so many ppl walking past by me. Gosh. Temperature: 32C - Thank God!
Ducks swimming trying to refresh in the lake water. How lovely these little ducklings!
Nice how they all swim together, a family of ducks. Mom goes swimming in front and them little ducks go after her. hehe

This is from the other side of the lake. And look! down there u can see a bridge. There were loads of ppl crossing it, and i didnt dare to go there today.

This is a museum called 'OCA", OCA means the "house of indians", in their language, called "Tupi Guarani". It was Oscar Niemayer who planned most of the buildings in the park, and he has this idea of using concrete without caring for details, i mean, just plain concrete, and thats it. He was the guy who planned Brasilia, our Capital District. I particularly dont like his work, as it is just concrete. Well, im not a expertise on it, just have my own opinion. To me, this museum looks like a flying saucer. lol

I found a group of Capoeira fighters doing some tricks in the park. They play an instrument called Berimbau - which is just a stick with a metal string from one edge to the other. U play the string using a kind of palette. I like the sound of it although it all sounds the same. Teh usually get in groups and make a circle. One goes bouncing and moving the legs, more like a dance, and the other has to be attentive not to be touched by the legs of the oponents. Capoeira was the sort of fight that nigers used to do to fight against portuguese. I can imagine the portuguse ppl's face when a black guy started to do this fight in front of them, lol

This is also inside the park. It is called Pavilhão Japonês. More or less like a museum.
U have to pay to enter there, but it is cheap. Also in there u have the carps they maintain in a lake, and those japs trees cuttings. It is nice to see how much patience they have to spend hours cutting them trees. Inside this house, there is a kind of little museum, with japs vases, bowls and stuff. Interesting.
I wanted to take a snapshot from a particular bush but it came out this pic. This is from the entrance of the Japs Museum.
This is from the inside of the Japs House. It feels weird to walk over those kind of floors. It makes a noise that u think it is going to fall any minute.
This is from the corridors that lead from one side of the house to the other where they have a little pond with carps. Carps are considered very rare in brazil. - as long as i know, only rich ppl have the habit to keep ponds with carps at home. That sounds a bit silly tho. I would never waste money on building an artificial opnd in order to fill it with fish. Gosh. Anyway, it is a fish that come from Asia. I think that this is the reason they keep them in there.
The Carps. lol
whatever next.
And then, after seeing them Carps, lol , I decided to have a look at the trees and bushes. (this reminds me of Chris talking about .... hahaha)
This is a monument craved in a stone about the relationship between Brasil and Japan. No wonder why we have so many Japs in here, lol Gosh, Chris, I miss you to come with me to those walks around the city, hehe We would laugh a lot. It is boring not to have any one to make comments with about the things we see.
This was a path that I walked on my own, and there was nobody in there. It is a bit scary to be on ur own in isolated areas, but at the same time, it gives a sense of peace. I really enjoy the way they cut the bushes. (hehe, Chris again) On the ground there were little stones to serve as the pavement. So, while u walk through the path, u listen to the sound of ur footsteps. It is relaxing.
Nice beutiful trees! This yeallow one in particular! I dunno what i did to the picture that i spoiled it . U see the white little stones on the ground.
Well, i feel a bit tired. Will walk home. Look how this pic came out! lol It looks as tho as I am inside a cilinder. How could it be? Dunno.. This is the street i walked home .. Ah... what a pain! Tomorrow i have to go back to work!! :(

MY MONDAY OFF
Well, I woke up at midday. Gosh..too late i think! I quickly got dressed and then, went my way to my aunt's.
Got there, chatted a bit with my granny and then went my way to the cinema. The film started at 15:45 and it was already 15:08 when i left my aunt's and headed to the Center 3, the cinema place near my aunts.
To my surprise, there was a huge queue in there! gosh!! think every one decided to do the same as i !!! I quit, of course.
I took a pic of the queue, look!!
The cinema counter is very far from this end of queue!! Can u imagine that? Gosh. No Way! I turn around and then, decided to walk the Avenida PAulista. Best thing a do then..

This was from another place in the avenue, a kind of restaurant, i entered there and pointed to the street.

This Yellow building is a public School, very traditional in são PAulo, called Caetano de CAmpos. I didnt like the colour they have painted it. gosh

This is the entrance of a house called "Casa Das Rosas" (roses' house) - It is a mansion that belonged to a rich man owner of coffee plantations, in 1890 - 1920. This is the path that leads to the back ogf the house. In the past, Avenida PAulista was the street for great mansions, small palaces, "palacetes", as we call them here. All them big and luxury houses belonged to Coffee Plantation Owners. Gosh.

Look! how lovely this "Roses Way" !! Many flowers in them bushes, but actually i didnt see a rose in there, lol This is still in the garden of the "Casa Das Rosas".

This is in the backyard of the CAsa Das Rosas. It is written in there: Centro Cultural Paulista. I didnt entered there tho.

Do u recognize this LOGO ?? lol Yeah, Mc Donalds. There are 3 Mc Donalds in total along Avenida Paulista. This is the most traditional. It is settle in an old house, which belonged to a Café Barão - owners of Coffee plantations in the past.

HAve a sit with me in a place called VIENNA. It is a mix of bar and restaurant. It has this glass windows, overlooking Av. PAulista. U can see the junction of the avenue and another street from my seat. Chris!! where are you? Im having a light coke, only. I cant lit a cigarette in there, as the waitress told me: Smoking is not allowed. Gosh.

This is another view from the VIENNA restaurant. U can see from there, the other Mc Donalds on Av. PAulista, lol That building above Mc Donalds I think it looks really cool. I like the beige colour on it.

This is a view of the restaurant itself. U can see up there in the picture, a red-like wall. This is a Gym center, for executives, called "Runner".. lol And a drugstore an a cloth store. Gosh I should have brought with me my credit card!! Lots of shops having good bargain prices on winter clothes!! Ah! by the way, the streets thermometers were showing 31C !! Good!!

But Lets go for a stroll ..
Ah! on my way, i found some corean shops, with illegal things, such as electronics, mobiles, and all kind of piracy u can ever imagine! Gosh! how can it be to have those shops in the avenue? Before police's eyes? Gosh. It is now around 16:30 hs.

This is inside of a gallery of shops on Av. Paulista. Those things in there in blue with newspapers hung on them are like memorial things. The ´papers are old, from 1940. teling about politics things. I asked the security guards in there if i could take pics from inside the gallery. They said that only pics of ppl and corridors were allowed. Well, as i was on my own, i took from the corridor, lol

This is one more pic I took from Viena rest. Gosh, not being modest, i just wish my cam had a milion pixels so this could come out even better! Look how nice this pic came out! A mix between old and new. The two buildings together!. I loved this pic.

This is the entrance of the São Paulo Arts Museum, better known as MASP. The story of this museum is very interesting. it goes on a man, a journalist called: Assis Chateaubriand , love about a woman of high society in the coffee era. he used to buy pieces of Art and keep in his house , just to please her. She loved Arts, but one problem: she was married. Then he decided to open an art gallery to impress her. Since then, that art gallery was the most important one in the city. It is crazy to think about all the story while seeing the places. Gosh.

A snapshot of the underground station entrance on Av. Paulista. In the green plate it is saying: "Estação Brigadeiro" ( Brigadeiro Station ).

MISSING CHRIS LOADS AND LOADS
Gosh
HAte being w/o him.
I did my sunday walk this morning. Walked for 3 hours. gosh. Took the pics that are already uploaded in this blog and then i came back home. It was around midday when i got in.
Then i took about 2 hours to sort them out and to post them in here, as i had to add lights on some of them as the bright morning sun spoiled the "shadows" and so i got many of them darken. the ones that u notice taht are too "smoky" is because i had to change the lights on them.
After posting in here, at around 3 oclock, i started to clean my flat. Gosh.
I was feeling very tired due to the long hours of walk and exposure to the sun.
Thank God it is warmer in here now and this morning i could wear my gym pants (lycra) and my top.
After cleaning my flat, i came back to pc and started to look for things to do tomorrow and tuesday - as we have holidays. I searched a site which is a sort of guide to the city and found a very interesting exposition being held at a gallery not far from my place.
It goes on "The history of writing" There are about 500 documents about the human writing. Even contemporary ones. There is a document Hitler wrote!! They tell the history of writing, cronologically, since the stone age. It must be very interesting. Good thing that it is for free.
Also, i decided to visit my aunt and cousins. (and also my granny). So, as aunty lives 2 blocks from Avenida Paulista (our most charming and important avenues here in são Paulo), i also decided to go to the cinema. In there there are many cinema rooms and i searched for that Fareinheit Film.
Av PAulista. This is where I am going to spend my
Monday off, hehe
Well, of course i would better be on the beach, but...
Well.
There are many things to do on Avenida PAulista. To go from one edge to the end of it, i usually spend one hour walking. I know that by heart cos I did my high school and university in a school near it, and I often used to have lunch with friends in restaurants on Avenida Paulista. Also, in the night, the bars and pubs nearby are very cool. Finnegans is about 6 - 10 minutes walks from it. :)
From My place up to Av. paulista i take around 30 minutes, cos I have to take a bus up to the subway, then the subway. There are 3 underground stations along Av Paulista. I dont think it is enough. There should be more.
here is a map i found with all the cinemas around Av. Paulista:
So... this is the maps of cinemas around Avenida PAulista.
Long time i dont walk in there. I will take my new dig. cam - obvious, and try and take some pictures.
I will invite my cousins, but if they dont want to go, thats ok. I will take a deep breath and go alone, lol
Gosh, I miss Chris very much.
Now we created a new flog - lol, and i am crazy for him to come back soon and so that i can show him the pics i took and also the camera i bought. It is a 3,2 mp, POlaroid brand.
I was a bit reluctant about buying this cam, but as it is a 3,2 mp, i thought that maybe it would be ok. It cost around 650,00 - around 150 pounds. To me, it was expensive., but It has a good price if u compare to the other cameras in the same category.
I have a feeling that this camera will lead me to a different routine. As im always at work, or at home, or trapped in supermarkets and not so often, at mums place, I will ahve to give another direction to my routine, as i cant always supply u with pics from my work and mums, or home itself. hehe Well, this cam will make me stand up and go for walks in this marvellous city I live in. ![]()
there are so many things to dom in here that i cant remember by heart all the name sof historical places to go. Of course they are not so old as the ones in Uk, as we are colonized only in 1,500, XVI century. Before this time, only them indians were in here. Same as in the US and the whole Americas. To me, it sounds really weird that before the century XVI we have no history. Neither us, nor Canada, US, Mexico, and the other countries.
One of the reasons I am so much fascinated by England and Europe In general, especially italy (oh, My Lord! I love Italy!!!) is the fact that I can walk through the roads and paths where so much in history was told. Gosh, It is scary! One of the things that impresses me a lot is the idea of overlooking the tower bridge or waterloo for example and go back in time, thinking of how much history these places carry. The same buildings that Shakespeare once looked at!! Gosh!! this is so fantastic!!! Not to mention about other names aswell.
I love Shakespeare! If he was alive, I would go after him and try to meet him! Also Sherlock Holmes, hehe I wish he existed and that i could meet him, maybe in a library. I think that meeting a soul mate in a library must be really nice. I imagine myself among oldbooks and then, a polite gentleman comes my way and he looks at me. Gosh, Libraries are the best place to meet a love. Hehe This is my crazy mind. I think I should have lived not the XXI century. I wanted to live during the XIX century. I believe that this was the most fertile period for poetry, study, romance and tragedies.
Anyway. My Chris wrote me an e-mail saying that he doesnt like to write in his mobile and send SMS, but gosh, if not on his mobile, then how could we communicate?
I got really glad he sent me a "sign of life", as i get worried when he is away. Dont want anything to happen to my babe.
He is my XIX Century English Lord, who flerts with me and wears an overcoat and smokes a pipe. lol True. hehe
He must think I am crazy! hehe But this is only my imagination. I know that he likes it when i trip in hidden thoughts and tells him. :)
Chris. I love u, my darling.
Please come back soon.
My heart urges to see u and listen to ur voice near my ears. Gosh. I wanted so much to hold u, and never let u go.
Adri tells me that I should not behave so emotional and hold my feelings a little bit.
But gosh!!! I cant help it!!
It is so good to tell someone that u love he - or she!!
Love is the greatest thing of all. I will never regret it.
I love to be loving Chris.
My Chris.

This is where they keep tables for ppl to have their breakfast. That couple in front of me was from Argentina. I could make this out by the way they were talking aloud (argees talk aloud) and of course their accent. Gosh, they are everywhere, lol
Lets see how much is it for a full breakfast... It is almost 11am.

Humm.. 8,50 per person...from Monday to Friday... and also 4,50 for a "breakfast kit". humm.. Im not going to eat that much, so i think i better just order what i fancy. This 8,50 is around 1 pound and 50p. No big deal, eh? And u eat the much u can.
There I go! I will go for a croissant bread with melted cheese and ham! mm And of course a light coke, lol It is too warm to drink a coffee now. The argees are still there, gosh. I can listen to all their conversation. Nice blue plate they have in here. I think i will buy some blue plates for home aswell. They go along well with yellow table cloth.
OK... had my sandwich, lets go down the cotovia street, to see the barbecue place in there, a 10 minute walk. :) Gosh, it is warm!
Avenida Pavão... This is a bar (PUB) where they play blues live, i never been there, but i often passed by it and it uses to be crowded on Thrusday and Fridays Nights.
Gosh. everywhere is closed... lol
The "Galeteria" ! On Cotovia St. This is a restaurant they serve grilled Chicken and also Meat. mmmm They are surely preparing for the ppl to go there and have lunch - which is at 13hs, on weekends. hehe
I will enter and take some pics of the grill.
mm the smell of grilled bits is wonderful! Here we grill meat and chicken with charcoal , so they have a very nice taste.
Gosh!! Loads of chicken being grilled!! I think io could eat it all in one go, lol
Look at the face of the grill man! haha
He may be wondering: why does she want to take pics of food?

Another shot of the chicken obituary, lol
oh...now lets go to a st they call Normandia, and it is very famous here in Moema due to its beauty in shops and also expensive prices. They decorate all the street during xmas time, and they put a snow machine in there, lol - how tacky! They also (the owners of shops in there) hire musicians to go playing xmas songs all the week around.
It is just 3 blocks from the Barbecue place.
This is from one side of the street. This big thing int here parket by the pavement is where ppl who are rebuilding store their rubbish. As a city law, one who goes on a rebuilding has to rent one of this big things in order to put their trash into. Then, a truck comes and takes it away. So, i can guess that some shops are being rebuilt.

There u go!!! The PAstel Stand!!! mmmmmmmmm In there they hang a wire with little leaflets, with the names of the PASTEL written. U can have one filled with cheese and ham, or bacon and Shrimps with creamy cheese, chicken, grounded beef, Palmito (that white thing in the pot in the earlier picture) and whatever u think of!! Gosh. Trust me to stop and eating one.. Well, it was almost 10am ! And i was hungry!! hehe

A view from inside the PASTEL Stand. U can see rolls of pastry to be sold. Some ppl like to buy it and add their own fillings at home. Also, u see the potato stand dow there? Opposite the potato there is a flower stand. And the elderly shopping around, lol Gosh.

OK, enough of eating... lets see what the fish stand has to offer us! :)
mmm... Shrimps!! Gosh! all fresh and fishy, hehe
Some ppl criticizes The St. Markets, cos they say it ressembles a medieval market, with food being sold in open air market, w/o a control of the medical stuff. Well, I think St. MArket are fun! U can go there and chat with vendors who will be glad to talk about the products and also, the products are the same sold in big markets, but with a big difference: in markets u can not bargain, negotiate directly to the owner of the product. And in FEIRAS, u can simply behave as if u were back to the Stone Age and make up ur price! lol
Also, u can ask to try the produc before u actually buy it. Lets get a bit closer to this fish stand...
Strike a pose u FEIRA vendors!! lol - "May I take a pic of your Stand, Sir?" - "Yes, sure, what is that for?"... _ "I am taking pics to show ppl overseas." "Oh, Thats great, so point to the shrimps! I bet no country has such big shrimps ever!!"
hehe

"What is that man with a FErrari cap is doing?" - I asked.
"He is preparing fresh cuts of SUSHI" - we accept orders in advance.
Oh, ok.
(Gosh)
- In that box, it is written "Pesca Viva" : "Living Fish"
Gosh.
I didnt stay there to see him killing the poor fish.
But let us see the Shrimps closer!!
Gosh!! Those Shrimps are soo big! They are called "Pistol Shrimps" - as they are as big as a pistol, lol.
The price for, say, 1 kilo, which is mroe or less 2 pounds and a bit more: 48 Reais. That makes around 8 pounds.
I wonder what the pinky things above the shrimps are... They look weird.
OK.. That is it for the Street MArket... Now, we are going to visit other places from the neighbourhood. How about going to a bakery I used to go, near where mum lived, and now my dad lives? It is called Della Fonte. They have a self service Buffet in there that u pay an amount and then, u eat all u can. mmmm
There u go!!! Della Fonte. The bakery near my dads place!
Me, cristina and Adriana used to go there and sit to have a beer, or eat delicious delicatessen! MMMMM
Long time i didnt stop by and have a coffee in there! :) This sunday morning stroll is being superb!
:)

SUNDAY MORNING
I woke up at 8am and was really crazy to go for a stroll around my neighbourhood and take some pics.
I told adri - who was online, and she said she would wait for the pics to be ready so that she could see the changes in Moema Area and also the pics from the Street MArket.
Well.. I will do the following: I will upload the pics in the same order i took them, showing all the way i walked, ok? - This is going to be a kind of Bronte Way, lol
Well, lets go...
First I walked dow a street called Gaivota. I wanted to take some pics of restaurants that have opened in there.
This is the street called Gaivota. Gaivota is the name for a bird. - as all the streets in here are named. It was about 9am, so, the streets were calm and also, as we are having a holiday - 2 working days, most of ppl have gone to the beach.
This is a restaurant/bar on the corner, in the evenings, they lit up candles and ppl have a sit on the tables they put by the pavement. Really cool. Of course it was closed by this morning time i took the picture.

These are more 2 restaurantes, on the same street, in the same block. They are sort of italian restaurant, im not sure.

This is me, standing in the middle of a round about, heading to the Street Market, also known as the famous "Feira". I am about 4 blocks from my place now. This street I am is called Avenida Lavandisca. On the left side of the pic, u can still see a bit of the bar i first mentioned. On the right, u see that white building. Many years ago, that was where my school was. They put down the school and built an apartment building - as almost all places here in Moema. Just looking ahead u can see ppl going to the street market, pulling their carts and also the market ppl.

This is the first view of the Feira. U see them fruits spread out in wooden stands.
Usually they come from a bigger market, called "Mercadão", and the vendors go there really early in the morning and buy loads of fruits and veggies to sell in other areas of São PAulo. Of course they overcharge the prices of them, but it is yet cheaper than in regular grocery stores and supermarkets.
In this pic, one Feira Boy was talking to this old man, telling him the prices of the fruits.
He came to me afterwards and offered me a piece of mellon to try. mmmm
Good thing to go to a Paulista FEira is that u eat for free, lol

Oranges, and more oranges!! Grapefruit and other fruits i dont think u ever seen in UK.
I dont know the name of them tho. lol
In that sign it is saying that a sort of Orange costs 3,00 for a kilo. It means: 70 pence for almost 8 units of them.
Bananas!!! All sizes!! all kinds!! lol
Nice how they have the yellow tent for the banana stand! lol
and more ppl pulling their carts.. That man over there, in red shirt, i think his wife told him to go there while she tidies the flat. hehe
Beans! hehe These ones are collected directly from the plantations. Most ppl prefer these ones than the ones sold in supermarket. Mom uses to say that these ones are more tasty. Black Beans for a feijoada! White beans for a Cassoulet! And the others u simply cook and eat! hehe Those white things inside the pots, above the beans are called "palmitos", they come from a plant. I love palmitos in salad! And so does Adri aswell. The other pots are filled with a mushroom called champignon. It is delicious in a dish called Strognoff. mmmmm
Walking through the FEIRA corridors. Gosh, it is narrow. It was in the morning, so u dont see many ppl in there, except for elderly ppl - they LOVE to go to the Feira in early morning. gosh. But try to imagine these corridors full of ppl!

Watermellons! mmmmm Cheap price. not even a pound for a whole one! And also the vendors go slicing them and giving out for u to eat!! At this point i had already eaten mellon, papaya, tangerine, and now a slice of watermellon!! lol Had to stop and take a pic, of course! :)
POtatoes Stand! :) I once bought some potatoes in there called "Batata Inglesa" - (English Potatoes) to make them baked potatoes with cheese. Although they are called English, they are all brazilian, hehe
Down there, u can see the PASTEL (fried pastry filled with all sort of stuff) Stand! mm
Every Sunday - when we have the Feira, Adri talks to me in the MSN and says: Go eat a Pastel for me" - hehe I am almost reaching the Pastel Stand, Adri!! lol
mmmmmmm
