RIO, WHAT A SHAME!!!

We are living now times of fear and violence.

The governament of the State of Rio de Janeiro and its security (??) secretary are each time more defecating in one of the most beautiful cities of the world.

The drug traffic has taken over the city.

People are afraid to leave their houses and there is nowhere to go, nowhere to run.

Rio is a small city, surrounded by hills. Although you cant see those hills anymore cos they are infested of slums.

If , for example, you want to go to the international airport, you have to pass through a chanty town. If you want to go to the countryside (beautiful), another chanty town is in there. If you work in the centre of the city and live in the suburbs, prepare yourself.... It´s very likely that you will have to spend the night at work, many times... Cos the drug gangs are usually envolved in battles (yes, just like Iraq, with guys runing down the streets with rifles, belic guns, etc...)

Some flats are taken over and the robbers go from floor to floor robbing apartments.. The warning is: Never answer your door, or the telecommunicator. The bandit could be pointing his gun at the guard´s head and forcing him to tell you that it is a pizza delivery or something.;..and by the moment youopen your door....

Even sleeping is dangerous: many people were victims of "lost bullets" which blew up in the apartments, coming from outside, where a battle was happening.

As the rich and poor live in the same area (again, Rio is a small place) This is not only a pooor class problem (as ppl from Bronxs – USA) it reaches all classes, all coulours, all sexes..

The most beautiful spots in Rio are the most dangerous to go, as the robbers know that many tourists will be hanging around in there.

So, if you ever come to Rio, try to book a room in a Hotel with enough facilities, cos this will be your oasis, and do not try to step outside. Forget the Christ´s Statue, the Sugar Loaf, The Lagoon, The Samba place, everything!

Go to Aruba!!!!!

I leave here my disgust about Garotinho (the head of security in Rio) and I would like to congrat him on the spoil he has been doing in the most famous destination of Brazil world-wide.

Because i want to go to the book fair

Because its good to live on my own
